A detective for free samples
Free fragrance and beauty samples exist, but they hide between coupon spam and dead links. This site reads public sources, keeps only reputable offers, and shows you what each one asks for before you click.
How a link is verified
- 1. It is found. A public feed or a new SoPost campaign page mentions a free sample.
- 2. It is filtered. A curated list of 577 brand names and explicit free-sample wording must match. Anything generic is dropped.
- 3. It is opened. The page is fetched before it is listed; each card shows when it was last checked (this list: less than an hour ago).
- 4. It is watched. Links are re-checked daily, and offers with a known deadline disappear the moment they expire — the list is filtered by expiry at query time, not by a sweep that might be late.
- 5. It is retired on evidence. Two separate dead-link reports pause an offer until a human re-checks it. Reports never delete anything by themselves.
What is not on the list
- No surveys, credit-card trials, or "free" samples that cost shipping.
- No mystery brands, decant shops, or dropshipper giveaways.
- No paid placements: a brand cannot buy a spot in the list.
How it is funded
One ad network, clearly labelled, and nothing else. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored cards, and no data sales — the only thing a claim ever asks for is what the brand itself requires.
Who runs it
An independent, one-person project. The scanner, the classifier, and this site are open about their rules: the sources page lists every feed, and the classifier's brand list is published in the repository.
Brand names belong to their owners. Sample Detective is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any brand listed here.
